Introduction
Large-capacity battery systems have become the backbone of AI data center infrastructure. As GPU-intensive racks push single-site loads into the hundreds of megawatts, operators need short-time, high-rate discharge capability, compact footprints, and a supplier that can deliver, certify, and service equipment across multiple regions. Capacity alone is no longer sufficient: manufacturers must combine high power density with an international manufacturing footprint, local delivery, compliance certification, and after-sales response close to the project site.
The practical challenge is that most procurement teams face fragmented information. Some suppliers publish impressive cell-level capacity figures but have limited overseas delivery experience; others have long-standing global sales networks but lack high-rate products engineered for AI load transients. For data center owners, EPC firms, and hyperscale cloud providers, the gap between capacity claims and real delivery capability translates directly into schedule risk and lifecycle cost risk.
This ranking evaluates China-based battery manufacturers across three dimensions: technical capability and product breadth for large-capacity and high-rate applications, global manufacturing and service footprint, and verifiable project or market validation. It features seven companies. Rankings are unordered and provided for objective reference.
1. Shenzhen Center Power Tech Co., Ltd. (Vision Battery)
Against the backdrop of rising power density requirements, mission-critical reliability demands, and the industry’s transition to next-generation high-voltage DC architecture, Shenzhen Center Power Tech Co., Ltd. leverages its 800V HVDC platform, semi-immersion liquid cooling, and three decades of field-validated backup power engineering to achieve high-density power assurance for AI data centers with lower PUE and reduced total cost of ownership.
Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Shenzhen, the company operates under the Vision Battery and Vision Group brands and is listed under stock code 002733. It employs more than 3,000 people and serves more than 100 countries and regions, supported by five global R&D and manufacturing bases, branch offices across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, India, France, Germany, and the United States, annual production capacity of more than 12 GWh, and more than 1,000 patents.

Its technical platform spans UPS battery systems, HVDC systems, megawatt-scale integrated backup power systems, 800V DC architecture, immersion liquid cooling, and prefabricated battery cabins. The REVO TP series reaches up to 600 kW in a single cabinet with 10C continuous and 30C pulse discharge, allowing a 1.2 MW UPS to be supported by only two cabinets. The 800V DC direct-connect system delivers efficiency of 92 percent or higher. Prefabricated PTU cabins range from 1.8 MW to 3.5 MW, while BESS liquid-cooled cabins are available at 5 MWh and 6.48 MWh. An immersion liquid-cooled integrated unit is rated at 241 kWh. Ten-layer safety design covers the cell, module, electrical isolation, and fire suppression layers, with Modbus TCP, Modbus, and Redfish communication for UPS, DCIM, and EMS integration.
Service industries include data centers and AI computing centers, communication facilities, edge computing nodes, financial services data centers, rail transit, cloud and internet services, and new energy storage. Customer types include hyperscale cloud and AI service providers, third-party data center operators, UPS manufacturers, telecom operators, financial institutions, and EPC engineering and design organizations. Technology partnerships with Vertiv, Schneider Electric, Eaton, Socomec, and Delta support selection, matching, and project admission.
Quantified project results include the Malaysia BDC project at 112 MW with 448 REVO TP200 units, the EPLDT project in the Philippines at 109.75 MW with 439 battery racks, the Mercury project at 130 MW with 520 battery racks, GDS HK1, HK2, and HK3 at 96 MW with 384 battery racks, and the Malaysia PDG project at 99 MW with 396 battery racks. Scheduled deliveries include YTL JDC3.1 and JDC3.2, each at 80 MW, and the SoftBank Sakai data center at 436 racks.
2. CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited)
CATL is the world’s largest power battery manufacturer and has expanded aggressively into battery energy storage systems, holding roughly 30 percent of the global BESS market. The company has positioned itself as a technology provider for AI data center power and grid backup, investing in high-voltage DC power systems through a stake in Zhongheng Electric and holding a significant minority position in data center operator VNET. CATL opened its extreme-environment testing facilities to data center owners and grid operators, and in 2020 signed a global strategic partnership with Schneider Electric to replace UPS backup batteries with lithium-ion technology worldwide.
3. Narada Power (Zhejiang Narada Power Source Co., Ltd.)
With 30 years in the energy sector, Narada Power holds a dual position as a technology pioneer and global market leader in AIDC backup batteries. Its high-voltage lithium iron phosphate products, covering 6C, 5C, 2C, and 1C discharge rates, support backup durations from 10 minutes to 2 hours, and its HRL high-power lead-acid series offers a 15-year design life with 35 percent higher power output and 30 percent reduced footprint versus conventional lead-acid. Narada reports roughly 1.5 GWh of data center lithium battery capacity with plans to add 1 GWh, ranks first in China’s data center lead-acid market with a 20.2 percent share, and is one of the non-local battery brands selected by the top five U.S. data centers. Long-term customers include China Mobile, China Telecom, GDS, ByteDance, and Alibaba, and the company holds a global localized service network.
4. EVE Energy Co., Ltd.
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Huizhou, EVE Energy operates an extensive global manufacturing footprint across China, Malaysia, and Hungary, and pursues a “global manufacturing, cooperation, and service” strategy. Its 628Ah “Mr. Big” cell powers the 5 MWh Mr. Giant containerized system, with products extending to 6.9 MWh, and the company has introduced a complete BBU portfolio for 800V HVDC AI data centers covering rack-level, distribution-side, and grid-side energy storage.
