Forging Skills, Cultivating Craftsmanship: The 7th Zhejiang Provincial Prefabricated Construction Vocational Skills Competition Concludes Successfully!

On October 17–18, 2025, the "Jinxiao Cup" 7th Zhejiang Provincial Prefabricated Construction Vocational Skills Competition was successfully held in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, culminating in a triumphant conclusion. The event featured three competition categories: Prefabricated Construction Workers, Prefabricated Decoration Installers, and Precast Concrete Component Fabrication. A total of 114 contestants from 38 teams across the province gathered at Jinxiao Technology’s PC production base in Haiyan to showcase their skills, demonstrating the exceptional craftsmanship and professional spirit of Zhejiang’s construction industry workforce.

The competition was hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Trade Unions. It was jointly organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Construction Management Station, the Zhejiang Construction and Building Materials Labor Union, the Zhejiang Green Building and Building Industrialization Industry Association, the Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Jinxiao New Materials Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Shi Zheng, Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Construction Management Station. Attendees included Song Bingjian, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Chief Engineer of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Hu Hailiao, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Trade Unions; Yuan Danglin, Chairman of the Zhejiang Construction and Building Materials Labor Union; Yuan Jie, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Lu Xiumei, Deputy Magistrate of the Haiyan County People’s Government; Xu Jinhu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Haiyan County Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; Chai Linkui, Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Expert Committee on New Building Industrialization; Lin Yi, President of the Zhejiang Green Building and Building Industrialization Industry Association; Qian Xiaoqian, Professor at the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Zhejiang University; and Li Jun, Chairman and General Manager of Jinxiao New Materials Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd.

During the ceremony, Song Bingjian and Yuan Jie delivered speeches, Li Jun extended a welcome address, and Hu Hailiao declared the competition officially open. In his remarks, Song Bingjian emphasized that developing prefabricated construction is essential for transforming and upgrading the construction industry and achieving green, low-carbon development. He noted that Zhejiang has continuously hosted this event for seven years, using vocational skills competitions to expand the skilled workforce and provide talent support for the industry’s high-quality growth. He expressed hope that the competition would inspire more top-tier craftsmen and industry role models to contribute their wisdom and dedication to China’s modernization and national rejuvenation.

The opening ceremony also included an awards presentation for the top performers of the 2nd Yangtze River Delta Regional Prefabricated Construction Vocational Skills Competition, where six winners were honored with the title of "Zhejiang Golden Blue-Collar."

The competition comprised both theoretical examinations (30% of the total score) and practical assessments (70%). Following the opening ceremony, the practical sessions commenced, with contestants swiftly taking their positions and diving into their respective challenges. From raw materials to finished products, the competition served as both a rigorous test of skill and a platform for technical exchange, highlighting the artistry of various trades in prefabricated construction.

Specific tasks included:

Prefabricated Construction Workers: Component hoisting, temporary bracing, grout preparation, parallel testing, and grouting within specified time limits.

Prefabricated Decoration Installers: Installation of prefabricated wall systems (including window casings), dry-floor methods, and suspended ceilings.

Precast Concrete Component Fabrication: Mold assembly, embedded part installation, and rebar placement.

At the closing ceremony, awards were presented based on final rankings. Each category awarded one first-place team, two second-place teams, and three third-place teams. Individual contestants ranking in the top 10% received the honorary title of "Zhejiang Provincial Prefabricated Construction Technical Expert." The overall individual champions in the Prefabricated Construction Worker and Prefabricated Decoration Installer categories will be awarded the "Zhejiang Golden Blue-Collar" title upon approval by the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions.

Jinxiao Technology fielded two teams, securing the Second Prize in the Precast Concrete Component Fabrication team category and the Third Prize in the Prefabricated Construction Worker team category, while also receiving the "Outstanding Organization Award."

Hosting the 7th Zhejiang Provincial Prefabricated Construction Vocational Skills Competition reflects the trust and recognition of regulatory authorities and industry peers. Moving forward, Jinxiao Technology will continue to align with industry advancements, drive innovation and upgrading in prefabricated construction, strengthen its skilled workforce, and contribute meaningfully to the transformation of the construction sector.
